Flying school

Did you enjoy flying a balloon? Don’t hesitate, become a pilot! Patricia Lamy, an instructor licenced by the French federation of aerostation (FFA) and the general direction of civil aviation (DGAC), will instruct you in accordance to the official federal program. La Ferme du Ciel is becoming an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and can deliver your LAPL and/or BPL.

Practical information:

Fares:
360€ per lesson, including flight preparation (weather and other factors…), pre-flight briefing and balloon preparation, flight, debriefing and 45 minutes of theoretical instruction in relation to the practical instruction you had during the flight. If two pupils simultaneously: 300€ per lesson and per person. If three pupils: 250€ per lesson and per person.

Alternatively, flat fee of 4000€ for 16h (3500€ if two pupils) including everything above plus a preparation for the theoretical examination.
There are many fields in the area, making for an excellent and safe training ground. We also fly above the vineyards, allowing ore experimented pilots to hone their flying skills.

The farm is accessible by car, by train (from Libourne) or by plan (from Bordeaux Mérignac airport)

Pilot licence requirement:

Be at least 17 years old.
Have a classe two medical accreditation.
Have attended training under the authority of a licenced instructor.
Have at least 16 hours of in-flight time, with at least 12 different flights. Two of those, having a total of two cumulative hours, must have been realised as a lone pilot, and one must have seen you climb at least at 1000 meters.
Have completed ground and in-flight examinations.
